Residents have begun to move into their new homes, at ClwydAlyn’s £11 Million Maes y Llan development at Rhuddlan Road, Bodelwyddan in Denbighshire.

Social homes provider, ClwydAlyn has handed the keys over for phase one of its new Maes y Llan development in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire. Residents moved into twenty-one new homes at the new Maes y Llan Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire. The remaining 24 homes are scheduled be finished in the New Year. This development of is being built by K&C Construction the modern, lifetime homes have been developed as part of Denbighshire County Council’s Local Development Plan (LDP). The mixture of new properties in phase one comprises 17 two and three bedroomed homes as well as 16 one and two bedroomed apartments.

To help residents tackle the rising costs of fuel and to minimise the damaging impact that less energy efficient homes can have on health, wellbeing, and the environment, all homes at Maes y Llan are built using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and feature high levels of insulation, with air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water. The homes also boast solar electricity panels and are positioned to maximise solar gain and natural daylight.

    Plus:

    • All homes have electric car charging capabilities
    • Built using as many natural and sustainable materials as possible
    • Built using materials sourced from local manufacturers and suppliers, keeping carbon footprint low

New resident Sarah Alcock said: “My first impressions of my new home is that it’s so spacious and warm and feels so welcoming.”

Resident Phoebe Garratt is moving into the development with her mum and brother. She said: “Living here is going to help our wellbeing so much.”

Resident Ella Potts explained how the new home would help to improve life for herself and three young children. She said: “I was living in a top floor flat before with my three kids, who are three, six and ten years old; it will change life massively for us.

“It’s all a big change and perfect and in time for Christmas.”

Penny Storr, ClwydAlyn’s Head of Development and Growth said: “We are delighted to see our new residents move into their homes at Bodelwyddan in time for Christmas. At this special time of a year, a new home symbolises a fresh start for these 33 individuals and families.

“The homes combine low-energy design, with sustainable heating solutions, meaning our residents can enjoy warmer homes that are cheaper to run and better for their environment. We wish all our new residents at Maes y Llan a happy, safe and warm Christmas!”

Liz Grieve, Head of Housing & Communities Service said: “The Council continues to enjoy a positive working partnership with ClwydAlyn, which is helping us deliver excellent affordable homes across the county. Building high-quality properties for Denbighshire residents is always a priority for us. These new homes will help meet local housing needs by providing modern, energy-efficient, and affordable accommodation, and we are pleased to see residents beginning to move into Maes y Llan, Bodelwyddan – just in time to enjoy Christmas in their new homes.”
