A hugely anticipated festive attraction returning to South Wales has already seen a surge in demand, with many of the most popular dates snapped up within hours of tickets going on sale.
Organisers of the THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride at the Brecon Mountain Railway have confirmed that due to the high level of early bookings, a number of initial dates have now sold out. In response, two additional dates have been added to the schedule, giving more families the chance to experience the magical Christmas event.
The newly released dates, Wednesday 19 November and Wednesday 26 November 2026, are now available to book online.
The immersive experience, which is set to run on selected dates between Friday 13 November and Wednesday 23 December 2026, marks the first time the world famous festive train ride will arrive in the Brecon Beacons.
Inspired by the beloved Christmas story, the attraction promises a fully themed journey complete with live performances, festive treats and a trip to the North Pole to meet Santa.
Families taking part can expect souvenir golden tickets, hot chocolate and sweet treats, along with appearances from favourite characters. Each guest will also receive the ‘First Gift of Christmas’ as part of the experience.
The full event lasts around two hours, including a pre show performance, the train journey itself and time spent at the North Pole. Visitors are advised to allow extra time for check in and to explore the on site facilities, including a gift shop.
Tickets are priced between £34.95 and £49.95 for adults and children aged three to 15, with tickets for children aged two and under costing £5. All bookings must be made online via the official website.
Those eligible for a carers discount, including Access or Hynt card holders, are asked to purchase tickets in advance and then submit proof via email to receive a refund on the discounted portion.
Accessibility has been built into the experience, with space for one wheelchair per session and two dedicated ALN friendly performances planned for December, which will run at a reduced capacity with sensory adjustments.
Group bookings for parties of 30 or more can also be arranged through direct enquiry.
Organisers say the response so far highlights just how popular the event is expected to be, with families being urged to book early to avoid disappointment as remaining dates continue to fill up quickly.
Quoting the iconic line from the story, organisers added: “One thing about trains… it doesn’t matter where you’re going. What matters is deciding to get on.”
