Wales is set for a mixed start to the week with showers and sunshine, before conditions turn more settled in the days ahead, according to the Met Office.

Today will begin on a chilly note, with patchy fog and frost clearing through the morning to reveal some dry spells and sunshine. However, cloud is expected to build as the day goes on, bringing scattered showers during the afternoon. Temperatures will reach highs of around 13°C, with a light easterly breeze.

Into the evening, showers will gradually ease, leaving a largely dry night with clear spells. Despite a breezier feel, temperatures are set to drop to around 3°C, with a risk of patchy frost returning overnight.

Tuesday is expected to bring a brighter outlook, with sunny intervals and the chance of a few early showers. Conditions should improve into the afternoon, with more consistent sunshine developing. Temperatures will climb slightly to around 14°C, although a cooling breeze will remain.

Looking further ahead, the middle to latter part of the week is set to become more settled. High pressure is expected to take hold, bringing largely dry weather across the country from Wednesday through to Friday. While it will remain breezy at times, there will be spells of warm sunshine, alongside some chilly nights with patchy frost still possible.

Overall, after a showery start, Wales can expect a calmer and brighter spell as the week progresses.
