Welsh food and drink producers will take centre stage at one of the world’s most influential trade events later this month, as the Cymru Wales stand returns to the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

Taking place from 28–30 June 2026, the Summer Fancy Food Show is North America’s largest specialty food and beverage exhibition, attracting more than 47,000 industry professionals and over 2,500 exhibitors from across the globe. The event provides a key platform for Welsh businesses to grow their presence in the United States, Wales’s largest food and drink export market outside the EU.

Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability, Llyr Gruffydd said: “The Summer Fancy Food Show provides an exceptional platform to showcase the very best of Welsh food and drink on a global stage. Our producers are renowned for their quality, provenance and innovation, and this event offers a valuable opportunity to connect with international buyers and grow exports.

“With the United States continuing to be a key market for Wales, supporting businesses to attend events like this is vital in helping them expand their reach, secure new contracts and build long-term trading relationships.”

Five Welsh producers will be present on the Cymru Wales stand (Level 3, Booths 2004–2012), supported by the Welsh Government. Attending companies include Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales, Burts Gwalia Bakery, Ocean Bay Seafoods Ltd, Snowdonia Cheese and Mornflake Mighty Oats.

The stand will also feature a wider showcase of high-quality Welsh food and drink products, including PGI Welsh Lamb and PGI Welsh Beef, Halen Môn, Tregroes Waffles, Welsh Lady Preserves, Aber Falls, Barti, AU Vodka, Village Bakery, Wholebake, Hilltop Honey, Meridian, Cygnet, Snowdonia Cheese and Mornflake Mighty Oats. Live cooking demonstrations and product sampling will take place throughout the three-day event.

North America remains a strategic priority market for Wales, with food and drink exports to the United States having doubled over the past five years. The Summer Fancy Food Show plays an important role in helping Welsh producers build relationships with buyers and secure new business opportunities.

Previous participation has delivered strong results, with eight Welsh businesses supported to attend in 2024 and 2025. Across the two years, this led to more than 200 meetings with international buyers, £2.485 million in secured export sales, and a further £11.6 million in potential sales, alongside £800,000 in additional sales. Companies including Wrexham Lager have already achieved export success following last year’s attendance, underlining the long-term value of the event.

Building on this success, Wrexham Lager, co-owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has continued to grow its presence in the United States following support to attend the event.

Commenting Lawrence Williamson, Sales Director at Wrexham Lager, said: “The Summer Fancy Food Show has played an important role in helping us develop our presence in the United States. Following our attendance last year, we secured new sales in the US and built valuable relationships with key partners, which continue to deliver for the business.

“The event also provided a strong platform to raise awareness of the Wrexham Lager brand with buyers and distributors, helping to open up further opportunities in what is now a key international market for us.”
