Cardiff Castle was rocked to its historic foundations on Monday night as Garbage and Skunk Anansie delivered an unforgettable evening of live music at TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle.

The two iconic bands have joined forces for a six-date UK tour, with Cardiff hosting one of the standout shows of the run.

First to take the stage were Skunk Anansie, fronted by the formidable Skin, who thrilled the crowd with an explosive set featuring fan favourites including Weak As I Am, Lost Not Found, Shame and Tear The Place Up.

The energy continued into the evening as Garbage took over headline duties. Led by Shirley Manson alongside Butch Vig and the rest of the band, the group treated fans to a deep dive through their acclaimed back catalogue.

Among the highlights were performances of Paranoid, Stupid Girl, Grow Up, Vow and the enduring 1990s anthem I’m Only Happy When It Rains.

Opening the evening was special guest Du Blonde, who warmed up the Cardiff Castle crowd with a set of psychedelic rock.

The concert formed part of the biggest ever TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle season, which this year features a record 24 headline shows from some of the biggest names in music.

The series continues on Tuesday, June 23, when Australian electronic pop group Empire of the Sun headline the historic venue, supported by Balu Brigada.

The summer programme also includes performances from McFly, Katy Perry, Billy Ocean, Bastille, David Gray, Richard Ashcroft, The Wombats, David Byrne, Biffy Clyro, The Streets, Sex Pistols, Two Door Cinema Club, Hollywood Vampires and Jimmy Eat World.
