Richard Ashcroft delivered an unforgettable evening at Cardiff Castle as he headlined TK Maxx presents Depot Live with a set packed full of fan favourites.
The former Verve frontman took to the stage at the historic venue determined to give the crowd exactly what they had come for, treating fans to a string of classic songs spanning both his solo career and time with The Verve.
The night began with Sonnet, Weeping Willow and Space and Time before Ashcroft moved into solo hits including A Song For The Lovers and Break The Night With Colour.

He then brought the show to a memorable close with a run of some of his biggest songs, including The Drugs Don’t Work, Lucky Man, C’mon People (We’re Making It Now) and the iconic Bitter Sweet Symphony, which provided a fitting finale to the evening.
Earlier in the night, former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan delivered what many will regard as one of the standout support performances of the Cardiff Castle concert series so far, while indie band Apollo Junction got the evening underway with an energetic opening set.
The concert formed part of the TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle 2026 series, which features a record 24 headline performances from some of the biggest names in music.
The series continues on Saturday when DJ Sammy Virji takes to the stage at Cardiff Castle.
