Swansea Council’s highways repair teams are continuing to visit communities across the city as part of an ongoing programme to repair roads in need of attention.

The Small Resurfacing Schemes (SRS) programme is now operating in the city centre within the Castle Ward.

During the first two weeks of August, repair crews will be carrying out work at Rodney Street in Sandfields, along with Bryn Syfi Terrace and North Hill Road in Mount Pleasant.

Later this month, the teams are due to move on to Bonymaen.

The SRS programme focuses on smaller repairs to sections of road in streets across every community in Swansea. It is designed to complement the council’s main highways maintenance programme, which delivers full resurfacing schemes throughout the year.

Andrew Stevens, Cabinet Member for Environment and Infrastructure, said: “The SRS programme is a crucial part of our overall highways maintenance programme.

“As part of a rolling programme of works, the teams will visit every ward in Swansea during the year.

“Roads and streets included in the SRS programme will normally need some resurfacing works but not meet intervention levels where full resurfacing is needed.

“Our aim is to provide a wide range of road repairs schemes that help maintain our roads and provide safe driving conditions for motorists.”

Alongside the council’s full resurfacing programme and the SRS programme, maintenance teams also carry out pothole repairs and aim to fill potholes within 48 hours of them being reported.

Residents can find out more about where the Small Resurfacing Schemes teams will be working throughout 2026/27 by visiting Swansea Council’s website.
