Learners across Pembrokeshire are celebrating their achievements as GCSE and vocational qualification results are released today.
Pembrokeshire County Council has praised students for the commitment, resilience and determination they have demonstrated throughout their studies.
The council said their achievements reflect not only their own hard work and ambition, but also the dedication of the teachers, support staff, parents, carers and communities who have supported them.
Congratulating learners on their achievements, Cllr Paul Miller, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Education, said: “Today is an important milestone for many young people across Pembrokeshire. We are immensely proud of everything they have accomplished and of the perseverance they have shown.
“Whether they are progressing to further study, training or employment, these results represent the culmination of significant effort and commitment. We wish every learner the very best as they move forward to the next stage of their journey.”
Steven Richards-Downes, Director for Education, added: “Results day is a moment to recognise and celebrate achievement in all its forms. Every learner’s journey is unique and today provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress they have made and the skills they have developed along the way. Across Pembrokeshire, we are committed to ensuring that young people can access the support, opportunities and guidance they need to achieve their aspirations and fulfil their potential.”
Young people completing compulsory education can choose from a wide range of opportunities across Pembrokeshire and the wider region.
Many will continue their education at school sixth forms or Pembrokeshire College, studying academic or vocational qualifications in preparation for future careers and higher education.
Others may choose apprenticeships, which combine practical workplace experience with further learning, while support is also available from Careers Wales for those considering their next steps.
Recognising that results day can bring excitement, relief and uncertainty, the council said it continues to place a strong emphasis on learner wellbeing.
Mental health and emotional wellbeing support remains available through schools, community initiatives and partner organisations. Young people can also access online resources designed to help them manage stress, anxiety and other challenges linked to moving into the next stage of education, training or employment.
Additional support is available through NHS Wales SilverCloud, which provides flexible, evidence-based online programmes to help young people build resilience and manage stress, anxiety and low mood.
Learners and their families are encouraged to seek support whenever they need it and to remember that success is measured not only through examination results, but also through personal growth, wellbeing and readiness for future opportunities.
Pembrokeshire County Council has congratulated everyone receiving results and wished them success in whichever path they choose.
