A RECRUITMENT agency has big plans for 2019 after celebrating one of the most successful and dynamic periods in its long history.

Supertemps is coming up to its 40thyear in business, but few have been as busy as the last 12 months.

The Colwyn Bay and Bangor-based company opened an office at Menai Science Park on Anglesey, took on fresh faces and revealed plans for a new base in north east Wales.

Its executive division – S2 Recruitment – will be focused more on engineering and IT, as well as senior and managerial roles in a multitude of industries, and the burgeoning construction division has gone from strength to strength.

Managing Director Sarah Ellwood says the foundations are now in place for them to further enhance Supertemps’ reputation as one of the region’s leading independent recruiters.

“This year has been all about preparation and taking a long-term approach to the future of the business,” said Sarah.

“The growth we have experienced in tandem with opportunities in the North Wales recruitment sector reinforced our decision to explore new industries and extend our footprint into Wrexham and Flintshire. We’re already making good progress in this area and plan to have a physical presence in 2019.

“We’ve worked hard behind the scenes and have a team focused on growth and building the client base of both Supertemps and S2 Recruitment, while continuing to provide existing partners with the first-class service we are renowned for.”

This year also marked Sarah’s 20thwith the business and 11that the helm having joined in the late 1990s when mum Dorothy successfully ran the operation from a dining room table at her Llanddulas home.

Significant growth saw them move the company to Colwyn Bay, and later Bangor, before joining the vibrant community at the £20m M-Sparc complex in October.

A base in north east Wales is next on the agenda, having unveiled a new-look team at the Bangor site in past weeks, with Senior Recruitment Consultant Vicki Armstrong-Smith being promoted to Business Manager, relocating from their Colwyn Bay headquarters.

“Now that we have a good mix of experience and dedicated trainees we can really build momentum into the new year,” said Sarah.

“We have a clear vision targeting areas where there is demand for staff – notably IT, catering and engineering – so both Supertemps and S2 Recruitment have a busy year ahead.”

She added: “I would like to thank all of the candidates and clients we have worked with in 2018 and wish them a very happy Christmas.”
