South Wales Police is investigating a serious road traffic collision that occurred yesterday morning at 8.50am (Monday 7 January 2019) on the A4233 Porth near the roundabout at the A4058.

The 76-year-old male driver of the black Citroen C1 motor vehicle, and the 53-year-old male driver of the silver Renault Trafic vehicle, were both injured.

The road was closed for approximately three hours whilst police carried out initial investigations and for vehicle recovery. South Wales Police thanks the public for their patience and understanding during this incident.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to provide assistance, or anyone who may have seen either vehicle being driven prior to the collision and who have not yet given their details.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting ref number 1900007315.
