The Six Nations Championship is only a matter of weeks away and is one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

It’s fair to say that Wales loves its rugby and there is no doubt that thousands of rugby fans will be watching Wales play in the Six Nations, whether they have a ticket or not.

Following on from Wales’ semi-successful Six Nations campaign in 2018 (3/5 wins), and superb autumn fixtures with a full-house of wins (4/4), all eyes will be on Wales to see if this can be replicated and then some.

    When is the Six Nations?

The Six Nations takes place over a 6 week period starting on Friday, 1st February 2019, with matches running until Saturday, 16th March 2019 (aka Super Saturday).

    When is Wales playing?

Wales has five brilliant matches over this period:

    • France vs Wales – Friday, 1st February, 20:00 (BBC)
    • Italy vs Wales – Saturday, 9th February, 16:45 (ITV)
    • Wales vs England – Saturday, 23rd February, 16:45 (BBC)
    • Scotland vs Wales – Saturday, 9th March, 14:15 (BBC)
    • Wales vs Ireland – Saturday, 16th March, 15:45 (BBC)

Two of the five matches will be played at home in the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

The remaining matches will be played at Stade de France in Paris, Stadio Olimpico in Rome and Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

How to watch and stream the Six Nations live in the UK

For rugby fans in the UK, you’ll be pleased to know that all of the Six Nations matches will be available to watch live on the BBC and ITV. Times and channels above for the Wales games.

The matches can also be streamed through BBC’s iPlayer and the ITV Hub apps, although from my experience, make sure you download them in advance and ensure they’re set-up correctly – you don’t want to miss the start of a match!
