One of Wales’ largest independent PR agencies, Working Word, has announced the appointment of three new recruits to its Cardiff-based team.

Ffion Rees joins Working Word as account manager having spent the past ten years working in marketing and communications, including two years working in China and Hong Kong. A former journalist, the fluent Welsh speaker made the switch from journalism into PR and, as communications officer at broadcaster S4C, oversaw a number of high-profile campaigns including promoting coverage of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the NHS at 70 birthday celebrations and award-winning Welsh language children’s strand, Cyw.

Joining Ffion at Working Word are two graduates from Cardiff University’s Master’s in International Public Relations and Global Communications Management: Ffion Roberts and Georgina Dransfield.

With previous work experience in PR covering non-profits, public sector, retail and travel, fluent Welsh speaker Ffion has already been successful in helping generate BBC Wales and ITV Wales coverage on television and radio for her clients.

Georgina joins from another Cardiff PR agency, and to date in her role at Working Word has shown off the wonder of Wales through Instagram Stories for Visit Wales, bagged UK broadcast coverage for the country’s food and drink industry, and worked with businesses, brands and organisations across a range of sectors.

Daniel Tyte, managing director of Working Word said:

“The campaigns we create and stories we tell for our clients often need to influence a broad range of the public.  Welsh speakers are frequently one of these audiences, so the addition of Ffion and Ffion to our team, alongside our already strong bilingual team ensures we’re well able to communicate creatively in both of Wales’ languages. As a digital native, Georgina brings a perspective and passion for twenty-first century communications that will fit in well with our talented team.”

Founded in 1999 and based in Cardiff and London, Working Word is one Wales’ largest PR agencies and delivers public relations, digital and brand programmes for clients across Wales and the UK including Principality Building Society, Visit Wales, National Lottery, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, BAFTA Cymru, Capital Law, Axiom Manufacturing Services, UWC Atlantic College and Welsh Government.

The award-winning agency continues its growth after 2016’s management buyout, which saw Caroline Holmes and Daniel Tyte become operations director and managing director respectively.  Last year, the firm acquired film company Ernest, and reached £1m turnover for the first time, and moved to a new creative office space in the centre of Cardiff.
