The Welsh Cheese Company, online sellers of artisan cheeses from Wales, have announced a monthly pop-up cheeseboard evening in Cardiff offering an unlimited supply of the very best Welsh cheeses. The event aims to showcase new and unusual Welsh cheeses as well as celebrate some of the more established varieties.
[aoa id=”1″]Organisers say the intimate events will feature a tasting board of 9 fantastic Welsh cheeses paired with Welsh wines and beers, followed by the unveiling of their unique giant cheeseboard featuring over 25 cheeses sourced from producers in all parts of Wales, alongside breads, crackers, chutneys, fruit and much more. And the first two events are going to be held in a suitably unique venue too – a central Cardiff basement that was once a Post Office strong-room![/aoa]
Welsh Cheese Company founder Tom Pinder said:
‘We have been selling Welsh cheese through our website since 2017 but we’re really excited to now be able to share our love of these cheeses and their producers through these pop-up events. There are some excellent Welsh cheeses that are already fairly well known, such as Perl Las and Black Bomber, but there are lots of equally superb cheeses that are a little bit under the radar, and we really enjoy introducing people to the quality and range that we have here on our doorstep. Cheeses such as Angiddy, a Brie made on a small farm in the Wye Valley, and Tysul blue, a new blue cheese made by Mark Jones in Ceredigion, deserve a much bigger audience, and this is a great way to let people know what they’re missing.’
The Welsh Cheese Company sells almost 60 different cheeses from Wales, and they say that their list is growing all the time, so there will be plenty of variety on offer. Tom added ‘There will be as much cheese as you can eat, and plenty of other great Welsh food on the boards too.’
The first two evenings are at Little Man Coffee in Cardiff on June 21st and July 26th, and the Welsh Cheese Company have plans to roll out their pop-up in other towns and cities around Wales later in the year.
