Newport-based Veezu, owner of Dragon Taxis, has been nominated in the inaugural Wales Transport Awards for its commitment to technology and innovation.

Veezu is the UK’s leading multi-region taxi and private hire company operating regional hubs Dragon Taxis in Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran and Bridgend, V Cars in Bristol and Bath, and Amber Cars in Leeds – all from its south Wales headquarters.

The forward-thinking company, which annually transports over 12 million private hire passengers via its network of 4000 driver partners, joins four other organisations which have been named as finalists in the Wales Transport Awards Excellence in Technology & Innovation category.

Veezu, established in 2013, is a dedicated technology enabled business investing millions in low emission cars, hybrid vehicles and a GPS based automated despatch system.

Nathan Bowles, CEO of Veezu Holdings said: “Our vision is to be the UK’s number one hyperlocal journey provider in the UK. Technology plays a massive part of our growth plans and we will continue to invest and develop new solutions to ensure we offer our passengers a superior journey experience.”

“We’re proud to have been shortlisted in the first ever Wales Transport Awards and be among so many first-class companies in their field. Good luck to all the finalists.”

The awards aim to celebrate transport excellence across Wales and nominees are now invited to present to a panel of judges before the ceremony on 1 November.
