A legal expert who has championed the cases of those affected by asbestos-related conditions has joined JCP Solicitors, one of the largest indigenous law firms in Wales.

Charlotte Perkins, an Associate Solicitor, is now a key member of the Personal Injury team and she brings with her experience in recovering millions of pounds in compensation for clients, UK-wide. Thanks to Charlotte’s expertise and dedication, some of her clients have received more than £500,000 in compensation individually, with mesothelioma clients typically receiving awards of more than £100,000.
As well as investigating often complex asbestos claims, tracking down the responsible party and dealing with difficult cases, Charlotte has also fought to obtain funding for clients to access potentially life-prolonging treatments that are not available via the NHS.

Keith Thomas, Director and Head of Personal Injury at JCP Solicitors, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Charlotte to our team. Her record of successfully representing clients with mesothelioma speaks for itself and I know she brings complete commitment to every case she handles.
“Many of Charlotte’s own relatives have worked in heavy industry, and some have suffered asbestos-related conditions themselves, so Charlotte brings a genuine understanding, a zeal and a compassion to her work that I know JCP clients will appreciate. Her appointment adds another important specialism to the Injury Services team at JCP, which is already known for its exemplary work, particularly within the field of head and brain injury and birth-related injury.”
Charlotte works closely with a number of charities, support groups and medical practitioners within the field. These established relationships support the work she does in getting the best outcomes for her clients, whether this is via compensation, medical treatments, care and living aids, or all of these.
Charlotte has made the move to JCP after 10 years’ legal experience in two other well-known Welsh law firms.
