One of North Wales’ leading lawyers has won a prestigious legal award for the “transformational impact” he has had on his law firm.

Ron Davison, Managing Director of Gamlins Law, was the winner of the Outstanding Individual Contribution Award at the annual LawNet Awards.

The award recognised the work that Ron and his senior management team have done in turning Gamlins Law into a “modern, dynamic, innovative and diverse” law firm.

LawNet is the UK and Ireland’s leading network of independent law firms.

Today’s Gamlins Law has an 11-strong board comprising seven men and four women – all of whom also lead key departments within the firm. Across the wider firm, of the 75 staff, 61 are female.

The firm has achieved year-on-year growth for each of the last five years, during which time it added a sixth office in Mold.

It has also recently launched its innovative Go For Growth initiative, a network of 20 partners capable of providing ambitious businesses in North Wales with all the support they need to achieve their goals.

The judges said: “Identifying culture as key to the future success of the firm, our winner embarked on a clear strategic programme to change the heart of the business, tackling the succession challenge and implementing progressive people management strategies along the way.

“The results have been outstanding.  The firm has nearly doubled in turnover in the last five years, and the dynamism and energy that our winner tonight has invested, leaves the firm perfectly placed to achieve sustained success.”

Ron said: “This award recognises the hard work and dedication of the directors, management team and all other staff at Gamlins Law.

“Our focus is on providing businesses, private individuals and families with advice and support they can trust when they most need it.”

Gamlins Law is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year. It has offices in Rhyl, Abergele, Denbigh, Holywell, Ruthin and Mold.
