LEADING Welsh bus operator NAT Group has announced an extension to its X1, X8 and 304 bus routes in Cardiff with the latest bus running until 3:15am.

The additional services – which start on November 18th – will be welcomed by later commuters and those enjoying the city’s nightlife.

The X1 service runs from one side of Cardiff to the other, beginning at Culverhouse Cross Tesco, continuing via Ely, Canton, City Centre, Albany Road, Llanedeyrn, Pentwyn and Pontprennau and will run until 12:13am, while the X8 runs from Cardiff Bay to Thornhill via Bute Street, Westgate Street, Caerphilly Road and Templeton Avenue, running until 12:17am. The 304 Cardiff city centre to Barry town centre will run until 3:15am.

NAT Group Managing Director Adam Keen said: “Ensuring our great city stays connected and that our passengers can get to where they need to be, when they need to be there, is what NAT Group is all about. Having analysed our current service levels, we felt that we could provide more for those wanting to travel later at night.

“We are sure our current passengers will appreciate the additional journeys and new passengers will be able to make use of the new services also.”

The extended bus routes from NAT follow the company’s simplification of fare structure whereby a simple ‘zonal’ fares system will operate from November 18th. Passengers can purchase a short hop ticket, which includes three consecutive stops, for just £1.20. The X1, X8 and 304 services also accept contactless payment.

The new timetables can be found www.natgroup.co.uk.
