The South Wales Chamber of Commerce is urging business across Wales to enter the industry recognised Welsh Business Awards ahead of the forthcoming deadline.

“Come on Wales, let’s showcase the best and most brilliant businesses. Let’s shout about success, endeavour and achievement.” This is the call from Heather Myers, CEO of the South and Mid Wales Chambers of Commerce.

With two weeks left to submit entries, businesses are now urged to enter the awards, before entries close on Friday 6 December.

Heather continues: “Businesses in Wales have so much to celebrate, but we don’t tell that story enough. That’s why The Chamber of Commerce offers all Welsh businesses the opportunity to be recognised by one of the world’s leading business organisations. It makes great business sense; the endorsement of being a finalist enables businesses to raise their profile with their clients, suppliers and their teams, and it’s the sort of external recognition that money can’t buy”.

Paul Webber, Joint Managing Director of CellPath, last year’s Welsh Business of the Year said: “Promoting our win consolidated our reputation as a good local employer, growing quickly in a responsible manner. With our core UK customers coming from the public sector, this is a very important message to relay.”

Start-Up Business Award winner Lorenzo Angelucci of Transcend Packaging Ltd, commented: “We were honoured to be recognised at these well-respected awards. It represented our commitment to creating a more sustainable Wales, but it also showed our ambition to bring our environmentally sustainable packaging to companies around the world.”

Harri Lloyd-Davies, Chamber President agreed: “Winning an award provides a year-long accolade, and also gives the opportunity to work with the Chamber of Commerce to raise your profile. That’s why I am encouraging business from across Wales to enter the prestigious Welsh Business Awards.  Even better, its free to enter and open to all Welsh Businesses. You have nothing to lose, so that’s why I’d say ‘don’t overthink it, just apply today’.”

There are 10 categories for businesses to enter, including: Best Use of Technology, Employer of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Customer Commitment Award, Family Business of the Year, Ecommerce Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, High Growth Business of the Year, Export Business of the Year, and Workplace Wellbeing Award.

The deadline for entries is Friday 6 December and nominees will be announced at the end of January. Winners will be announced at a glittering Gala Dinner, hosted by television presenter Gethin Jones, and attended by key business influencers, on Thursday 5th March 2020 at City Hall in Cardiff.
