    Cardiff Bus unveils Bank Holiday and new summer services

    Cardiff Bus has unveiled its bank holiday timetables and launched its summer weekend service to Penarth Pier.

    The bus operator will be running a Sunday service across all its routes during the forthcoming spring bank holiday on 28thMay.

    Customers travelling are urged to check details of their routes via the website or social media prior to their journey in order to avoid disruption.

    Customers are also advised that both customer services sites at Sloper Road and the Central Library will also be closed during the bank holiday.

    Also from Saturday, Cardiff Bus will be introducing its weekend route to Penarth Pier from the city centre, running every weekend and Bank Holidays until 15thSeptember.

    The 91 service will run hourly from St Mary Street, the Wales Millennium Centre and Mermaid Quay to Penarth Pier.

    While travelling around this summer passengers can also take advantage of Cardiff Bus’s day and family travel tickets which offer affordable travel throughout the capital and Penarth.

    Adults can travel throughout the capital all day for just £3.80, while children pay just £2.50. While those with an Iff card will receive adult tickets for just £3.60 and child tickets for £2.40.

    Families can also purchase a family day ticket for just £5.40, for either two adults and three children, or one adult and four children.

    Commercial manager at Cardiff Bus Gareth Stevens said:

    “We have a jam-packed schedule of exciting events taking place across the city this summer and we want as many people as possible to enjoy the festivities.

    “We are offering a number of day and family tickets  and additional services, across both Penarth and Cardiff, to encourage people to really embrace the summer months.

    “Whether you are looking to visit the beach or explore the city, Cardiff Bus will get you there.
