Cardiff International White Water is reopening to pre-booked visitors from tomorrow, August 19, following the completion of thorough checks and the implementation of measures to ensure customer health and safety.

To help with social distancing, a one way system has been created, signage displayed, and four marquees installed for use as temporary changing rooms, with the changing rooms in the main building temporarily closed.

All boats are routinely cleaned and sterilised following each use. As well as being cleaned, the wetsuits and buoyancy aids provided are quarantined after each use.

Hand sanitiser is provided around the facility, and at the start and at the end of the session. Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own.

In order to comply with the current Welsh Government COVID-19 requirements, capacity at Cardiff International White Water has been reduced, again to ensure social distancing.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Peter Bradbury, said: “It is good to see activities returning to Cardiff International White Water, one our most popular visitor attractions. Thanks to the hard work and efforts of all the staff involved, visitors can feel confident that their health and safety is being looked after, so they can enjoy the experience to the full.”

At present, Flowrider indoor surfing is not available, due to the risks associated with air circulation, mist and spray. Due to the number of contact points, the Air Trail high ropes are also currently unavailable.

Customers are asked to arrive dressed ‘paddle ready’ (i.e swimwear worn underneath clothing), so that they can quickly and easily change into the wetsuits provided.
