Rhymney Integrated Health and Social Care Centre, at Lawn Industrial Estate, has now become a collection point for food bank donations.

Donations will be used to help local people accessing support from Trussell Trust registered food banks across the Caerphilly county borough, including Upper Rhymney Valley, Risca, Blackwood and Caerphilly.  Additional donation points can be found at:

    • St Tyfaelog’s Church, Pontlottyn (Thursday 10am-12noon)
    • Tesco, Ystrad Mynach
    • Morrisons, Bargoed
    • St Peter’s Church, Aberbargoed (Wednesdays 12:30pm-2:30pm)
    • Tesco Extra, Risca
    • Morrisons, Rogerstone
    • Aldi, Risca
    • One Stop, Risca
    • Asda, Blackwood
    • Tesco, Crossways, Caerphilly
    • Oasis Christian Centre, Bryn Road, Cefn Fforest (10:00am-12:00pm)
    • Asda, Caerphilly
    • Connect Life Church, Crescent Road, Caerphilly (Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10:00am – 1:00pm)

Cllr Carl Cuss, Cabinet Member for Social Care and Wellbeing at Caerphilly County Borough Council, said “We’re grateful to Rhymney Health Centre for hosting this donation point.  Food banks rely on donations to enable them to provide support and emergency food parcels to those in need.  I encourage local people to donate what they can to help food banks continue providing this support during these difficult times.”

“This will be of great assistance to many people in the Rhymney area of my constituency. As recent months have shown we must continue to work together to strengthen our local communities and a food bank donation point is another important part of the jigsaw. It will help people enormously” commented Dawn Bowden, MS/AS for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney.

Gerald Jones, MP for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney, added “I’m grateful to Rhymney Health Centre for hosting this donation point for local food banks, and helping them continue to provide this vital support for those in our area who need it most.

“In these difficult times the support that food banks provide for local people in need has never been more important, and I want to encourage Upper Rhymney Valley residents to please donate what you can so that they can continue to provide this crucial lifeline for those in our communities in crisis.”
