A road in Llwydcoed has reopened following the completion of important repairs to a bridge.
The affected section of Croesbychan Road was temporarily closed while work was carried out to future-proof the structure that carries the road.
The summer scheme included concrete repairs to the underside of the bridge deck, repairs to the topside and waterproofing works.
Following completion of the main work, kerb lines, footways and verges that had been removed during the project were reinstated.
The section of Croesbychan Road near the bridge has also been resurfaced.
The overall scheme was completed on Thursday, August 27, allowing the temporary road closure to be lifted.
The contractor’s site compound and welfare facilities will remain in the nearby layby temporarily and are due to be removed by the end of next week. No additional traffic management will be required for this work.
Horan Construction Ltd delivered the scheme, which was funded through the council’s Highways and Engineering Capital Programme for 2026/27.
The work was delivered as part of an allocation worth more than £12 million for highways structures.
