Welsh office furnishings manufacturer Orangebox has moved its Welsh Design Studio to offices on the Melin Corrwg Business Parc at Pontypridd.

The company, which has its manufacturing site at Parc Nantgarw, Cardiff, has taken a three year lease on the 3,300 sq ft two-storey Unit 6 at Melin Corrwg, at a rental of £10.60 per sq ft.  Formed in 2002, Orangebox designs and manufactures seating, acoustic pods, tables for offices and hotels. It has offices in South Wales, London, Huddersfield, New York and Dubai, and manufactures in Cardiff and the USA.

In addition, expanding healthcare recruitment specialist Care Ethics Ltd has leased the adjacent 1,650 sq ft Unit 5 office on a five year lease.

The landlord – a local private investor – was advised in the transaction by joint letting agents Emanuel Jones and Knight Frank.

Mark Sutton, partner at Knight Frank in Cardiff, said: “We have seen an improved and encouraging level of activity in out of town offices over the last 12 months, with well located, good quality stock able to attract occupiers.”

Rhys Williams of Emanuel Jones added: “This move was a great fit for the occupier and enables Orangebox to house all its Wales-based design and marketing staff in a single modern office building. Over the last fifteen years, Orangebox has grown dramatically, and now numbers more than 450 people.”

Melin Corrwg Business Parc is located on the northern edge of Treforest Industrial Estate at the A470 Upper Boat interchange, close to Junction 32 of the M4 motorway.
