Cooke & Arkwright has announced the promotion of Chris Hyde to Director of Land Agency in the firm’s Bridgend office. Chris joined the firm in 2005 and became Associate Director in 2014.

Managing Director, Andrew Gardner said, “I congratulate Chris on his promotion and welcome him on to the Board of Directors. It is an entirely well-deserved reward for all the hard work, dedication and professionalism he has brought to his role over the years.

“Rural practice remains as important to the firm as ever and Chris, with the support of his team, has the skill and energy to drive our business in the rural sector forwards, to deliver a first class service to our extremely loyal and very long-standing client base and to grow the business even more.”

Chris has responsibility for the management of the Plymouth Estate, Dingestow Court Estate, Dunraven Estates and The Church in Wales. He undertakes property valuations and the sale and letting of farms and land.  He also provides strategic advice on how to maximise returns from commercial ventures and development opportunities.

Chris commented, “I’m very honoured to be taking up the role of Director of the Land Agency department and following in Rod Perons’ footsteps.  I, as we all did, held Rod in the highest esteem, not only as a colleague but as a friend. I’ve now taken over much of his casework and there is a whole new dynamic which I really enjoy.

“We have a very strong team ethos and I will work to strengthen and grow this for the future.”

Chris is a RICS Registered Valuer. He sits on the board of the RICS National Rural Professional Group, helping shape the RICS’s rural opinion and policy across the UK. He is a tutorial organiser and examiner for the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV), and a board member of the Wales Group CAAV.
