Young footballers in Aberdare, South Wales can now ‘kick-off’ in style, thanks to sponsorship from clean energy company, Enviromena.

The youth squad at AFC Llwydcoed was in desperate need of a team kit, and with Enviromena keen on supporting organisations in the local community, the renewables company was happy to step in and help.

When Enviromena sponsored the team’s waterproof kit and jackets, Manager/Secretary, Keith Lewis, was thrilled. He said: “We’ve been doing our own fundraising for the club, but with £186,000 needed for some vital repair work, finding the money to purchase a new training kit for our youth team was proving difficult. We are extremely grateful to Enviromena for its sponsorship support. This will mean our players will look the part as they make the steps towards playing senior football. A huge thank you from all of us here.”

Clean energy solutions company Enviromena has a solar farm site in Bryngolwg, Aberdare, and Chief Commercial Officer, Lee Adams, who also sponsored a quiz night at the New Inn in Rhigos where Keith works, said: “We want to show our support for people in the communities in which we’re working, and it’s been a real pleasure to sponsor AFC Llwydcoed’s youth squad.

“The youth players look great in their new kits and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the local club in the future.”

AFC Llwydcoed is a growing football club in the South Wales town of Aberdare, which consists of 24 teams ranging from under 6s right through to seniors. A new female team also kicked off for the first time this year.

As a company, Enviromena is committed to leading the transition to a world powered by clean energy by providing safe, affordable, and reliable clean energy solutions to customers across the UK and Europe.
