PC Scott Duncan of the Roads Crime Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and who has not already spoken to police, to come forward.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area and saw a van matching the above description to contact us, and particularly anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage which might help with our investigations.

“Your help could be crucial in identifying the vehicle and those responsible.”
