Asbri Golf Ltd based in Caerphilly, teed off a great end to the year with help from Caerphilly Borough County Council’s Business Enterprise and Renewal’s international trade support.

With help from Sarah Gaze, the Council’s International Trade Support Officer, they secured a UKSPF International Trade Grant of £2000.00 to assist with financing a recent trade visit to Canada.

Founded by Eryl Williams in 2001, Asbri was originally a product design consultancy which was commissioned to design sporting footwear, apparel and accessories to many global brands including Fila, Kappa, Puma and Umbro. Utilising this product design, developing, and sourcing knowledge, Asbri Golf was launched in 2003. The brand name “Asbri” is a Welsh word with the translation of “Spirited” or “Vivacious” which captures the whole ethos of their company.

Support for the brand and products quickly grew both through the UK and overseas, but sales catapulted on a global scale when Asbri was announced by the European Tour as Official Licensee’s to the 2010 Ryder Cup, held at the Celtic Manor Resort. The company has grown from strength to strength now selling over 200 different golf products and supplies over 5,000 golf clubs and resorts across 35 countries worldwide. Specialising in crested and custom logo accessories, their extensive portfolio caters for the largest golf resorts and corporate brands in the world.

Chosen by the PGA professionals as their trusted brand for custom accessories, business stretches from close to home courses such as Royal Porthcawl and Royal St. David’s to further afield customers like Royal Montreal and Royal Sydney. They have also seen their company grow to supply multi-national companies like Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Pepsi, and many others choosing them for their golf day requirements.

They have recently returned from a highly successful trade event in Canada assisting their Canadian Distributors with their largest national trade exhibition. Their visit helped their Canadian Distributors secure large orders for delivery Spring next year and taking on new staff to join the ever-growing business. With an aim to be the global leader in golf accessories the company is certainly heading to championship winning levels.
