A2B Active CIC in partnership with Aspire 2Be are announcing the launch of the PT Arts Cafe, a virtual, creative, social and collaborative space for Port Talbot’s artistic community to share performance, art and music.

The project was made possible by funding through the National Lottery, along with the support of local MP Stephen Kinnock and Senedd Member for Aberavon David Rees.

The arts community was hit hard by the COVID pandemic and this new initiative has been established in response, with the aim of assisting the rehabilitation and growth of local art and performance in a positive environment.

The PT Arts Cafe will create a community of shared interest for local talent from Port Talbot and the surrounding areas. All those involved in culture, performance and the arts, from single artists painting in their spare time to professional group performers are invited to join an online community and showcase their talent to a local, national and international audience.

As well as being a platform for sharing and discovering local talent, PT Arts Cafe has also announced an agreement with a number of well-known actors and professionals to host a series of Masterclasses. Led by local actor Kyle Rees, this initiative will feature experts from the world of stage, television, film and media in a series of meet and greet sessions, where attendees will be able to interact, question and learn from the professionals themselves.

Further developments are expected, including an official launch event, to be announced in the coming weeks and months, with a growing list of celebrities that have agreed to
    participate.
