A school pupil from Barry has been crowned the winner in Aldi’s nationwide lorry design competition, as part of its ongoing partnerships with Team GB and ParalympicsGB. The supermarket asked young people across the country to hand draw a design for its next lorry, with Sara, aged 13 from Whitmore High School winning the competition. The designs had to inspire others to enjoy healthy and sustainable food, with Sara’s winning design focusing on how a healthy diet can lead to a healthy future. A major new play charting the life of one of Wales’s most influential political and social figures will be co-produced by the National Theatre and Wales Millennium Centre, coming to the Cardiff venue next year. More than 450 Cardiff workers were underpaid the National Minimum Wage by £243,000 last year, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has revealed. HMRC is writing to more than 5,000 employers in the Cardiff area to highlight common mistakes around the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) – offering support to help them get it right and reminding them of their legal obligation. An Aberystwyth graduate who contributed to the breaking of the German Enigma code during the Second World War has left over £3m to her former University. Originally from Galgate near Lancaster, Joy Welch studied Economics, Geography and Philosophy at Aberystwyth and graduated in 1950. In 1943, aged 17, Joy volunteered for the Women’s Royal Naval Service and the work took her to Eastcote, an outpost of Bletchley Park. Radnorshire Wildlife Trust’s exciting new Wilder Pentwyn project began at the start of September, funded for two years through The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
