Manic Street Preachers and Suede will play a second date at Cardiff Castle next summer. Last week it was announced the indie music legends will play a double headlining show at the iconic venue on Friday July 5 and now, due to overwhelming demand for tickets, a second date has been added which will see a further show on Saturday July 6. The Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan has praised Wales’ dedicated social care workforce at the Association of Directors of Social Services Cymru national conference. A local business has once again come up trumps for the local community after carrying out a garden makeover for year 5 and 6 pupils at Blackwood Primary School. This is the second time that staff from Senior Flexonics Crumlin, a sales, engineering and innovation centre based in Pen-Y-Fan Industrial Estate, have rolled up their sleeves to benefit the local community, after they built a forest school for Libanus Primary School last year. A new partnership will inspire girls in Wales to pursue a career in civil engineering. The pilot programme, between the Institution of Civil Engineers Wales Cymru and Girlguiding Cymru, encourages girls to explore the world of civil engineering and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The programme sets out a range of activities members can undertake, either with their Girlguiding unit leaders or an ICE STEM ambassador. These include bridge-building and challenges to encourage members of Girlguiding to explore their local areas and identify different pieces of infrastructure. THE LORD’S TAVENERS WALES has raised over £5,000 from their longstanding tradition of hosting an Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day at the prestigious Royal Porthcawl Golf Club.    Teams from across South Wales and other parts of the UK came together on for the event held in memory of ex-Chairman of the Lord’s Taverners Wales Ian Spratling.
