Monmouthshire County Council order over 5,000 period products from social enterprise Hey Girls ahead of students returning to school in September. In April 2019 the Welsh Government launched the Period Dignity Grant allowing schools to provide period products freely for their students.  A Plan UK study conducted in 2018 found that 1 in 10 girls and women are living in period poverty, unable to afford or access products from month to month.  The grant means that no pupil will be caught short at school and can have a safe and dignified period. Cameras will soon start rolling again in Wales as work on high profile productions are set to begin, following the Welsh Government coronavirus regulations and guidance,  after a very difficult time for the film and TV industry across the world. Productions in Wales affected included the third series of television drama Keeping Faith / Un Bore Mercher produced by Vox Pictures based in Cardiff Bay. A group of independent coffee shops and restaurants in Cardiff has teamed up to promote #ContactlessCoffee, and encourage the safe and hygienic use of reusable coffee cups as lockdown restrictions lift. Pettigrew Bakery & Tearooms, Bloc Coffee, Brodies Coffee, Dusty Knuckle, and The Little Man Garage have all pledged to accept reusable cups again as they reopen, and to offer discounts and special offers to the customers who use them. A town festival that attracts thousands is to return for 2021 – after being cancelled amid the Coronavirus crisis. Having had to postpone this year’s event due to the Covid-19 outbreak, organisers of Flint Festival have confirmed the hugely popular two week event will return next year.
