Youngsters are being urged to enter a competition inspired by the late broadcasting and rugby legend Eddie Butler to write Wales’ best speech. The A New Voice for Wales contest, which is being organized by pro-independence campaign group YesCymru, is open to students across Wales who are between the ages of 16 and 18. The winner, who writes the most inspiring address on the topic of independence, will win The Eddie Butler Award, a £500 cash prize, as well as £250 for the school or college supporting their entry. Sherman Theatre has confirmed the cast of its production of A Christmas Carol (23 Nov 2024-4 Jan 2025), the return of the hit 2021 festive show for everyone aged 7 plus, adapted by Gary Owen. Radnorshire Wildlife Trust (RWT) has reached the mid-point of its Wilder Pentwyn project, funded for two years to forge ahead with its vision for the 164-acre Pentwyn Farm, near Llanbister, to transform the land and work with communities and landowners to deliver nature recovery at scale, whilst still making space for local food production.
