A young author who has been bereaved twice in the last three years is encouraging others to channel grief into their creativity as he publishes his third novel. McKenzy Lee-Dominy lost his older brother in sudden and unexpected circumstances earlier this summer. The 17-year-old student at The College, Merthyr Tydfil, was working on his third novel at the time, Cordelia Kills, which has recently been published and is available from Amazon and Waterstones. Second year English literature, Sociology and Business student McKenzy also lost his mother in 2021 and credits his childhood love of creative writing with helping him “rebuild”.…

A fast-growing precision engineering firm has announced a £4 million expansion plan that will double the workforce by creating 40 new jobs and triple production. The investment by the American owners of Continental Diamond Tool (CDT) will include moving to a 30,000 sq ft factory that’s nearly three times the size of its current premises in Kinmel Bay and is less than half a mile away on the Tir Llwyd Industrial Estate. A diabetic mum-of-two is set to run the Principality Building Society Cardiff Half Marathon to prove to herself the condition can’t stop her. Jane Warchal was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was just 15 and said that’s when her ‘life changed dramatically’. Two directors at North Wales’ leading law firm have successfully completed their fundraising climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. Ron Davison, Managing Director of Gamlins Law, and fellow director Dafydd Roberts reached Uhuru Peak – Africa’s highest point – after a gruelling seven-day climb. They were part of a 23-strong group that completed the 5895m (19,340ft) climb. Ron and Dafydd have so far raised over £3,500 for their two chosen charities, Prostate Cancer UK and LawCare, the mental health charity for the legal sector.
