The Development Bank of Wales has led a funding round of £440,000 with an equity investment of £250,000 in AI-powered technology that is helping to keep the elderly healthy, independent and safe. As a privacy first, connected-care platform, wall-mounted Hestia sensors capture heat sensing data and record temperatures, daily movements, rest patterns and any falls. The new owners of a country estate in Ruthin are inviting the public to send in their memories of the property. Andrew and Louisa Godfrey of the Godfrey Group bought Pool Park Estate last year and are painstakingly restoring the historic site for leisure and hospitality purposes. A citizen science study has found that 71% of household fridges tested were operating above the recommended safe temperature of 5°C. Even more concerning is the discovery that 37% of household fridges in the study were operating at 10°C or higher.
