The shortlist for the Moondance Cancer Awards – Wales’ only dedicated cancer awards – has been announced, celebrating the achievements of individuals and teams across NHS Wales and its partners who deliver, lead and innovate cancer services. Over 110 nominations have been shortlisted down to 55 organisations, teams and individuals across 10 categories in areas including early detection and diagnosis, patient experience and cancer treatment. Canaletto’s masterpiece, ‘The Stonemason’s Yard’, is returning to Wales for the first time in over 80 years. The ‘Idyll and Industry’ exhibition, including National Treasures: Canaletto in Aberystwyth, will open in the Gregynog Gallery at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth on May 10. The exhibition tells the incredible story of ‘The Stonemason’s Yard’ and how it came to Wales as a ‘refugee’ from bombing during the Second World War to be safely protected in the cavernous Manod slate mines. Ian Price, Director of Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Wales, has joined Thomas Carroll Group as a non-executive Director. Ian has been at CBI Wales for 19 years, having initially joined as Assistant Director for Wales and the South West before becoming Director for Wales in 2017. Prior to joining the CBI, he worked at Newport-based recruitment agency Acorn. This is his first non-executive position with a private company. Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) has marked a significant milestone by signing a pioneering agreement with Cardiff Metropolitan University and other Higher and Further Education (HE & FE) institutions from South East Wales.
