The behaviour of pupils attending a Welsh-medium primary in Swansea and their attitudes to learning are excellent, school inspectors have found. A team from Estyn visited Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Bryn-y-Môr earlier this year and have now published a report. Colin and Ruth Williams of Glanddu Road, Fleur de Lis were jointly sentenced at Newport Magistrates Court for unlicensed dog breeding, Animal Welfare Act 2006 offences  and failing to indicate in adverts that puppies were being advertised by a dog breeder contrary to The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. A popular former Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough has sadly passed away after a long battle with illness. Cllr Dianne Price, who represented the Bargoed ward since 2004, passed away surrounded by her family on 20 April. The Leader of Council, Cllr Sean Morgan, paid tribute to Dianne’s legacy, “The community of Bargoed, and the wider county borough, has lost a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of local people. Abergavenny Leisure Centre secured a podium spot in a national fitness challenge earlier this year, finishing third in Technogym’s Lets Move for a Better World 2024 Fitness Campaign. The leisure centre saw off competition from all but two of the other 237 competing clubs. 760 of Abergavenny’s members and staff worked together to collect 1,304,579 MOVEs, Technogym’s metric for measuring physical activity, logged by gym equipment or GPS physical activity trackers such as a Garmin.
