Pembrokeshire remains number one in Wales and in the top 20 per cent in the UK for the number of battery EV charge points, according to official figures. The Department for Transport data from July 2023 shows that there are 172 public EV charge points across Pembrokeshire. This is compared to 134 in Swansea, 117 in Cardiff and 127 in Newport. Pembrokeshire County Council is commissioning a lead artist to co-create a new trail or series of trails for the twin towns of Fishguard and Goodwick. The project aims to increase a sense of pride in place for local communities as well as promoting economic revival. Pembrokeshire County Council has announced a welcome boost to local transport services by securing a replacement for the popular fflesci Bwcabus that was due to end this month. The Bwcabus service had been due to finish on October 31st following the ending of Welsh Government funding through the Rural Development Programme grant. Using some of the existing local bus service budget, Pembrokeshire County Council has funded a replacement service with operator Richards Bros from Wednesday November 1st until March 31st 2024. A consultation has begun on exciting plans to move a north Powys all-age school along the language continuum so it eventually becomes a Welsh-medium school, the county council has said. Powys County Council is proposing to move Ysgol Bro Caereinion in Llanfair Caereinion along the language continuum from a dual-stream school to a Welsh-medium school on a phased basis. The Deputy Minister for Social Services, Julie Morgan, met with care experienced children and young people in North Wales to discuss the declaration which is informing radical reform of care services in Wales.
