South Wales Police is continuing its search for Zahooran Begum, 60, who has been missing from Grangetown, Cardiff, since Saturday evening (March 2). Following extensive CCTV enquiries there is now this confirmed sighting of Zahooran at 7.30pm on Saturday in Marl Park, close to Channel View Leisure Centre. Officers are continuing to search the river and Cardiff Bay Trail area again today and have been supported by colleagues from air support and specialist search. A LOCAL campaign aiming to transform perceptions of HIV has been welcomed into a global partnership set up to stop transmission of the condition by the end of the decade. Caerphilly County Borough Council is recruiting up to 5 civil engineering apprentices, as part of the Welsh Apprentices Alliance. A man has been jailed following an investigation into a report of non-recent rape, where the victim was sexually abused from the age of six. Aaron Griffiths, 32, from Briton Ferry, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. The offences were reported to police a number of years after they occurred. A grant funding programme is to be created to support arts and creative industries in Powys after the county council secured £675,000 from the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF). Powys County Council’s Arts Service has successfully secured the funding, which is aiming to support arts and culture organisations across the county with the programme aiming to focus on transition and resilience. A new initiative to provide essential goods to struggling households has been launched in Swansea. Cwtch Mawr, Wales’s first ‘multibank’, was officially opened this week by First Minister Mark Drakeford and Gordon Brown, the former Prime Minister. Multibanks are based on the foodbank model, but provide a wider range of non-perishable goods, enabling businesses to redistribute surplus unsold items to people for free.
