Cardiff Council’s Cabinet will consider the proposals in a report on Thursday,…
Harry Styles will be performing at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on June 20 and June 21, and a full city centre road closure will be in place by 12 noon. The earlier road closure time is due to the number of people that we are expecting to queue at the gates to the stadium early in the day which impacts the safety of the surrounding highway network. Castle Street and Duke Street will remain open until 4pm, to allow through flow of traffic. The M4 motorway and surrounding Trunk Road Network is expected to be very busy for this event -…
The future of popular independent Cardiff bar and music venue Porter’s, which also hosts Cardiff’s pub theatre The Other Room, is finally secure, with a 20-year lease now agreed and signed for a bigger venue, spread across three floors, at the top end of Barrack Lane. Expected to open just after the summer following extensive renovation works, the new venue aims to maintain the character and ethos of the original Porter’s – but in the words of owner Dan Porter, “do it better.” It was March 2021 when the news broke that the venue would have to leave its current…

Figures released by South Wales Fire and Rescue have revealed that since 1 April, they have already responded to more than 400 grassfires and wildfires which have…
