Residents across Wales will soon have access to some of the UK’s fastest-possible fibre broadband. Netomnia, the UK’s fastest-growing network operator, is working in Hengoed, Swansea, Llanelli, and the Llanrumney area of Cardiff to bring upload and download speeds of up to 10Gbps, more than 170 times faster than the UK’s average. This capability means that Wales’ home and business broadband needs will be met for decades to come. 800 ambulance service vehicles across Wales are undergoing a major communications refresh thanks to a collaboration between the Welsh Ambulance Service (WAST), Telent and Panasonic TOUGHBOOK. The communications rollout started in May 2023 in Caernarfon, North Wales and will maintain the important communications link between control rooms and ambulance service vehicles, with the local collaboration bringing cost savings and minimising the time ambulances are off the road.
