South Wales accountancy practice Parker & Co has further boosted growth with a merger with fellow Newport firm Nigel Davies Accountants. Residents across Wales will soon have access to some of the UK’s fastest-possible fibre broadband.  Netomnia, the UK’s fastest-growing network operator, is working in Hengoed, Swansea, Llanelli, and the Llanrumney area of Cardiff to bring upload and download speeds of up to 10Gbps, more than 170 times faster than the UK’s average. This capability means that Wales’ home and business broadband needs will be met for decades to come. 800 ambulance service vehicles across Wales are undergoing a major communications refresh thanks to a collaboration between the Welsh Ambulance Service (WAST), Telent and Panasonic TOUGHBOOK. The communications rollout started in May 2023 in Caernarfon, North Wales and will maintain the important communications link between control rooms and ambulance service vehicles, with the local collaboration bringing cost savings and minimising the time ambulances are off the road. Monmouthshire-based metal fabrication experts DKP Engineering has acquired a new press brake thanks to asset financing from Paragon Bank. Based in Pontypool, DKP Engineering specialises in bespoke pre-designed and on-site engineering solutions and secured five-figure funding to add the press brake to their existing operations. The Selmach-supplied Morgan Rushworth PBXS comes with a 3100mm bending length and a 200-tonne capacity, enabling DKP Engineering to increase the size and complexity of the projects it can undertake. Fifty community-minded volunteers took part in a litter pick to kick start a summer campaign to spruce up a housing estate. The two month long project on the Parc Peulwys estate in Llysfaen, above Colwyn Bay, is being organised by housing association Cartrefi Conwy and sister organisation Creating Enterprise who are urging tenants to get involved The litter pick and fun day were the first in a series of events designed to bring community members together while also generating new ideas for improving their lifestyles.
