Following the demolition of the properties along the A472, our contractors Walters group will start site improvement works on 31 May 2023. The works are expected to take 24 weeks. Caerphilly Council has said to minimise traffic disruption and it is anticipated that much of the works will be carried out without the need for traffic management. The D-Day Memorial parade and service will take place this year on Saturday 3 June. It is organised by the Royal Welsh Comrades Association, and is the first parade since the Covid-19 pandemic. The Welsh Government’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Andrew Goodall, has today announced that Judith Paget has been appointed on a permanent basis to the role of Director General of Health and Social Services and Chief Executive of NHS Wales. A new £1 million project will research new varieties of peas to reduce the UK’s reliance on soya imports, it has been announced today (Thursday 1 June). The ‘Pea Protein’ project, which involves academics from Aberystwyth University, is being spearheaded by grass and forage seed specialists and breeders, Germinal. A third (36%) of UK businesses plan to adapt their strategies to navigate financial challenges over the next six months, new research from HSBC UK reveals. The findings demonstrate how resilient UK businesses are with 29% stating that they had to adapt their business strategy over the past five years to survive – and 12% said this adaptation enabled them to increase their profits.
