Buyers have purchased all 108 new houses for private sale at Greystone Meadows, in Undy, where Bellway is delivering a total of 144 properties, including 36 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership. Blind Veterans UK has unveiled a new ‘smart’ system at its centre of wellbeing in Llandudno in Wales which uses Amazon Echo devices to give veterans more independence and staff new ways to communicate. The system, called Alexa Smart Properties, has been installed by Amazon and Solution Provider Vocala, and enables the blind veterans to get assistance with orientation around the centre; access information like menus, entertainment, and services; and to call reception with Alexa-to-Alexa calling, using only their voice. Bridgend County Borough Council welcomes its Cabinet’s approval of modifying the construction contract for works at Cosy Corner, Porthcawl. Plans for the site include an array of up-to-date features, ranging from community facilities, space for retail units, changing provisions for users of the nearby marina, to outdoor children’s play areas and more. Close to 240,000 visitors have enjoyed Swansea Arena since it first opened to the public a year ago.
