South Wales Police is renewing its appeal for information concerning the whereabouts of David Evans who has been missing since Thursday March 23. Mr Evans, aged 77, is from Llantrisant in Rhondda Cynon Taff and was last seen in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd and 10.15 on Thursday. Known locally as Russell, he was last seen wearing a full-length green raincoat, blue jeans, black shoes, glasses and possibly a scarf. A father and daughter have been ordered to pay £10,000 in total for a string of health and safety offences – including a rat infestation – at the Lilo Grill restaurant on City Road, Cardiff. The offences were described as ‘the worst case of neglect at a restaurant that we have come across in 15 years’ by health and safety inspectors. Vouchers worth £200 each have been sent to over 1,400 eligible households in Swansea who didn’t make a claim for a fuel support payment when the scheme was running between September 2022 and the end of February 2023. Sent by the Post Office, the vouchers follow-on from Swansea Council letters to each of these households to explain why they’re now being sent a voucher and how to cash it in. An additional 1,908 primary school children in years 3 and 4 are set to receive free school meals in Neath Port Talbot. Starting from Monday 17th April (start of Summer Term 2023), all children in primary years 3 and 4 will be entitled to Universal Free School Meals. Children will automatically receive free school meals directly through their school at the start of term. Parents do not have to apply. RCT Council has provided an update on the revised repair scheme for the Iron Tram Bridge near Robertstown. Progress has included the appointment of a contractor and completion of a planning submission for the scheme. The Iron Tram Bridge is an historic Scheduled Monument carrying a Public Right of Way over the River Cynon near the A4059 roundabout at Meirion Street.
