Residents who have downloaded the Cardiff Gov app on their mobile devices can now report issues with street lighting in the city. The latest release of the app, available to download on the Google Play Store or Apple’s App store, allows residents to quickly and conveniently tell the Council about a street lighting fault, pinpointing its exact location on in-app map. A unique project in Pembroke Dock ‘Tackling Loneliness’ is bringing the local community together with veterans. An Enhancing Pembrokeshire grant of £20,000, in collaboration with the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, has funded a Peer Mentor, who supports many people, not just veterans, at its former Catholic school site. The funding also allowed the continuation of weekday Naafi breaks where participants can chat and enjoy the company of other veterans. Llanilltud Faerdref Primary School welcomed the Welsh Government Minister for Education and Council Cabinet Member on a recent visit – as pupils and staff celebrated the progress towards constructing their new school building. A mother and two daughters from Fochriw who bred dogs without a licence rearing at least 27 litters over a 2 year period have been sentenced for unlicensed dog breeding under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Julie Pearce (aged 57), Rosalie Pearce (aged 33) and Kaylie Adams (aged 24) of Glyn Terrace, Fochriw, Bargoed pled guilty on 24th April 23 and were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on 10th July 2023 for unlicensed dog breeding and failing to indicate in adverts that puppies were being advertised by a dog breeder contrary to The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.…

The Welsh Government will co-fund a third round of investment in greener and cleaner innovation through the Ford Low Carbon Vehicle Transformation Fund as part of its response to the climate emergency, Economy Minister, Vaughan Gething, announced this week. Set up by the Ford Motor Company in 2020, the Welsh Government-administered fund addresses strategic industrial technical challenges associated with low-carbon vehicles, including electrical energy storage, electric motors, power electronics and powertrains. Jacob Goodwin has won the ‘Top Performing Student’ award on the Tilhill Level 3 Extended Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture.  Jacob, from Wrexham, received a specially carved wooden trophy along with £250 prize money.
