More Welsh language animation and live-action programming is set to be developed for children and young people in Wales thanks to a funding boost from the Welsh Government, Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, Dawn Bowden announced today. An additional £2.5m is being provided to continue the good work of controlling antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in animals in Wales, Rural Affairs Minister Lesley Griffiths has announced. AMR occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and no longer respond to medicines making infections in people and animals harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death. A member of the public found the box at Ravenhill Park next to a path on Friday (24 February) with five kittens inside as well as a child’s pink dressing gown. One kitten had already died and sadly a further two died shortly after. The two kittens – one ginger and white and the other tortoiseshell – were just a few hours old when they were found with their umbilical cords attached. WORK is set to begin on a ground-breaking £14m health and wellbeing complex at Coleg Cambria. The state-of-the-art facility will be built at the college’s Yale site in Wrexham. Bodelwyddan-based Wynne Construction – which also developed the adjoining £21m Hafod campus – is to take on the project, which includes a fully furnished industry-standard commercial spa and juice bar, simulated medical wards and virtual reality environments.
