The Development Bank of Wales has completed a further  six figure investment in Reel Label Solutions to allow the Pontyclun-based printing specialist business to scale up production capacity to meet growing demand. Having completed a management buy-out in May 2022 that was funded by a £1.2 million mix of equity and debt from the Development Bank, Reel Label Solutions has achieved forecast growth in the last year. A MEDIA company has shown further signs of growth across Wales. Route Media – part of Dragon Group – has expanded its footprint with new partnerships including a West Wales bus network, which serves passengers in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. The contract will see 10 vehicles installed with streetliner and rear signage viewed by motorists and pedestrians in the popular tourist areas, which are visited by up to 10million people a year. Shane, aged 48, was last seen leaving the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, on Sunday 7th May. Extensive enquiries have been carried out to locate Shane but there have been no confirmed sightings since he was seen on Allensbank Road, close to the hospital, at around 12.30pm that day. He is known to live a transient lifestyle and could possibly be living in a tent. He has links to Swansea and has also previously lived in the Roath area of Cardiff. Knights Brown has been awarded the contract to build Cardiff’s new coastal flood defence system in south-east Cardiff. The scheme, on the Rover Way foreshore and the banks of the River Rhymney, has been designed to protect properties from the impact of extreme weather events, and from rising sea levels for the next 100 years. The scheme adheres to Cardiff Council’s adopted shoreline management plan of “hold the line” and has been approved by The Welsh Government via the coastal risk management programme. Swansea Council plans to improve an outdoor performance location.  It has secured £180,000 of Welsh Government funding to update and improve the Swansea Amphitheatre that stands between the Marina and LC. Neath Port Talbot Council has taken possession of two brand new street sweeping machines as part of its ongoing ‘Clean Up and Green Up’ commitment. Members of the Rainbow Coalition running the council made improving ‘the public realm’ in Neath Port Talbot one of their early priorities and in December last year the Coalition Cabinet approved a £4.2m programme of work to get it done. The Pembrokeshire County Show is back once again – and this year’s event on 16th and 17th August will see Pembrokeshire County Council provide a one-stop-shop of support and information.
