South Wales Police is continuing to investigate a fatal road traffic collision which happened on St Helens Road, Swansea, at around 8pm on Friday (2 December). A blue Yamaha motorcycle was in collision with a silver Toyota Prius and, despite the best efforts of members of the emergency services, the driver of the motorcycle, an 19-year-old man from Cockett, was declared deceased at the scene. The Minister for Health and Social Services, Eluned Morgan, has officially opened the Welsh Ambulance Service’s new station in Cardiff. The £8 million Welsh Government-funded facility in Pontprennau is the new home of both emergency and non-emergency crews, previously based at the Blackweir station. The Cycle Response Unit is also based in the new facility, which includes a ‘Make Ready Depot’ where dedicated Fleet Assistants clean and re-stock vehicles, enabling clinicians to spend more time serving patients in the community. RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after two kittens were found dumped by a bus stop in Barry. The two kittens – aged around 12-14 weeks – were abandoned on Monday 28 November, near Michaelston Close. RSPCA inspector Sophie Daniels said: “They must have been so frightened left in the cold and in the dark. “Luckily they were found by someone who lives nearby who took them in at around 8pm. They were found in a carrier with a blanket and toys. “We’re now appealing to anyone who saw anything to contact the RSPCA’s appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”…

Pontyclun-based developer, Llanmoor Homes, has announced the first phase of Reserved matters approval of plans for a brand new community to be built in Swansea. The new community, which will be known as Pentref Rhositr in Llangyfelach, will have initial works begin by Spring 2023 and follows seven years of close collaboration with Swansea Council.
