City Hospice’s charity shop in Rhiwbina has turned a new page as it reopened as a bookstore last Friday following a refurbishment. Renowned romance fiction author Jo Thomas officially opened the bookstore on 30 June as the Cardiff village hosted the Rhiwbina Festival Weekend. The store is now dedicated to books, vinyl, games, puzzles and media for all the family. The family of a burglary victim in Penarth are appealing for the return of a wedding ring which has huge sentimental value. The gold wedding band, like the one pictured, belonged to a late relative and the family are devastated it has been stolen. The ring, along with other jewellery, Rolex watches and a large safe, was taken from a house in Dros y Mor near Marine Parade. Craig Griffiths, 42, Christopher Horner, 42, and Lee Rees, 55, broke into properties in Pontypridd in the early hours of May 3. The men entered a total of three houses in the Trallwn area during the early hours of the morning and stole an array of items from inside the property whilst the occupants slept. Blockchain will now be used to improve rail possession planning for the first time in the UK. The news comes following a unique partnership between infrastructure consultancy Amey Consulting and tech firm Finboot.
