One of Wales’s busiest ‘A’ roads has been given a full spring clean by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Streetcare team in a bid to tackle road-side litter. Almost 400 bags of litter were collected along the A470, between Taffs Well and Abercynon during one of its periodic clean-ups of the widely used route. RCT Council has provided an update on the process of securing tenants for its new modern business unit development in Robertstown – and is delighted to confirm that leases are signed for nine of the 20 units to date. Construction of the major Cynon Valley development was completed before Christmas, bringing the unused land off Wellington Street back into use. It has created 20 industrial buildings ranging from traditional to hybrid units, which vary in size from 1,000 to 1,700 sq ft. The poet and author was chosen by the First Minister for her impressive contribution to the arts, literature and culture in Wales. Persimmon East Wales has successfully secured planning approval for a smaller phase within its wider St Edeyrns development. The permission from Cardiff City Council is for the construction of seven high-quality new homes, continuation of the spine road and redefined curtilage to St Julian’s Manor, which is based at the site. Andrew D’Auria Solutions (ADS), which is headquartered in Landore, Swansea and has a second base in Cwmbran, has won the contract to provide all the servicing, maintenance, repair and installation of domestic heating in the West of Wales for Pobl, the largest social housing provider in Wales. Pobl’s West Wales region covers everywhere from Bridgend to Haverfordwest and includes roughly 5,500 properties.
