Start Up Loans, part of the British Business Bank, announces that the programme has facilitated over 100,000 loans worth more than £941 million to businesses throughout the UK. The figure marks a significant milestone for the programme since its creation in 2012. More than one in three UK adults surveyed (36 per cent) never make space in their day or the time to speak about their mental health – the equivalent of 19.6 million people aged 16 and over. Pembrokeshire residents are once again the best recyclers in Wales, with nearly three-quarters of all waste recycled. Statistics published by Welsh Government show Pembrokeshire’s recycling rates were the highest in Wales last year – for the third year running. Household recycling centres are not usually the first place someone would visit if they were looking for something antique or valuable. But a recent find of vintage books are sending curious collectors and bookworms, alike, into a spin. A collection of old books by P.G Wodehouse, which were destined for the dump, have been saved by Suez colleagues at Five Lanes Household Recycling Centre (HRC) near Caldicot and are thought to be worth several hundred pounds. Young people from Merthyr Tydfil’s Glynmil Caravan Park have remembered the lives of Gypsy/Roma Holocaust victims who died in World War Two by creating an educational art installation that will be on display at events and buildings across the UK. The artwork, which recently featured in a Holocaust commemoration service held at St Tydfil’s Parish Church, is currently at Merthyr Tydfil Central Library and will be displayed at other events before travelling to the Senedd in August for Roma Holocaust Memorial Day.
